Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate my exact age?
Subtract your birth year from the current year. Then check if your birthday has passed this year — if not, subtract one more. For exact months and days, count the months and days between your birthday and today. This calculator does all of that automatically.
What is my age in days?
Multiply your age in years by 365.25 (to account for leap years) as a rough estimate. For an exact count, use this calculator — it counts every calendar day from your birth date to today.
Do leap years affect age calculations?
Yes! Leap years add an extra day every 4 years (with some exceptions). If you were born on February 29, you technically only have a "real" birthday every 4 years — though most people celebrate on Feb 28 or March 1 in non-leap years.
Can I calculate someone else's age?
Yes — just enter their date of birth. You can also use the "Calculate Age As Of" field to find someone's age on a specific past or future date, which is useful for legal documents, retirement planning, or historical research.
How old am I in different cultures?
In Western cultures, age starts at 0 and increases on each birthday. In traditional Korean culture, everyone is 1 year old at birth and gains a year on New Year's Day rather than their birthday. In some East Asian traditions, age is counted differently — a baby is considered 1 year old at birth.
